Product description
The Sidecut diamond stone is a top-quality tool with carefully finished details and a precision-machined aluminium plate that provides flat, stable support for the diamond surface. A fine choice for sharpening and polishing steel edges when accuracy and results matter.
A replaceable abrasive surface keeps long-term costs down
One of its cleverest details is the replaceable diamond surface. When it wears out, you keep the solid aluminium plate and fit a new self-adhesive diamond sheet. This lowers the cost of renewing the stone and lets you keep using the same backing plate for many sharpening sessions.
You invest in a well-made tool from the start, then replace the wearing part as needed. Especially useful if you maintain several pairs of skis or sharpen frequently during the season.
How to use the product
- Use the stone in an angle guide or file guide that holds the correct angle.
- Moisten with water or a suitable grinding fluid.
- Work from tip to tail with light pressure.
- Start with a coarser grit only if the edge has burrs or damage.
- Clean and dry the stone after use.
Features and specifications
- Backing plate: approximately 110 x 25 mm.
- Replaceable diamond surface: approximately 100 x 25 mm.
- Versions: 120, 200, 400, 600 and 1000 grit.
- 120 grit - extra-coarse stone for larger burrs, rock damage and hardened areas of the steel edge, for example at the tip and tail after machine sharpening. A first step when the edge needs more work. Follow with finer stones to smooth and polish the edge.
- 200 grit - coarse removal of burrs and minor damage.
- 400 grit - all-round sharpening and polishing.
- 600 grit - fine polishing.
- 1000 grit - very fine final finish.
- Flat, precision-machined aluminium plate with colour anodising and laser-engraved grit markings.
