Buy a file/sharpener and sharpen the steel edge like a pro.

This is how you grind your steel edges manually with a file and file holder.

Step 1. Remove rough damage from stones and the like from the steel edge with a coarse file.

Step 2. If you are going to "hang the edge", i.e. grind an angle on the coating edge, it must be done before you grind the steel edge.

Step 3. Grind the steel edge with a file/edge and file holder

Step 4. Remove shavings from the edge with a sharpener or a very fine file. Preferably a diamond sharpener or ceramic sharpener. Draw a light stroke along the entire edge.

Step 5. Blunt off the steel edges 5-10cm at both the top and end of the ski. This makes the skis more stable to ride. Blunt the edge with a file, whetstone, rubber stone or fibertex.
