Base prep wax for alpine skis
Base prep for alpine skis saturates and protects the base, while creating a stable foundation for the day’s glide wax. It is used on new or freshly stone-ground skis, after deep cleaning, and before longer-term storage.
Adapt to the condition of the base
A new factory-waxed ski may require less work than a completely clean or freshly stone-ground base. Inspect first, then choose how many layers are actually needed.
Soft base and durable finish
- A softer base prep penetrates easily and is suitable for saturation.
- A harder layer can increase durability in aggressive snow.
- Scrape and brush each layer before applying the next wax.
- Avoid unnecessarily thick layers that clog a coarse structure.
Also good for storage
An unscraped layer of base prep or universal wax protects the base during the off-season. Scrape and brush only when the skis are to be used again.
