Scrapers
Scrapers are used to remove excess wax, clean grooves, and level minor base repairs. Here you will find plastic scrapers, groove scrapers, steel scrapers, and tools for keeping the scraper sharp.
The right scraper for the right job
The plastic scraper is used after hot waxing. A groove scraper cleans the cross-country ski's center groove and edges. The steel scraper is used for more advanced base care and for leveling repair material.
A sharp scraper works better
- Sharpen the plastic scraper regularly with a scraper sharpener or file.
- Work with steady, overlapping strokes from tip to tail.
- Remove wax from edges and grooves before it becomes hard and difficult to work with.
- Use a steel scraper carefully - it can remove material from the base.
Scrape until the structure is clear
The goal is not to leave a visible wax layer on top of the base. After scraping, the structure should be brushed out with the correct brushes for the wax you have used.
