Waxing iron
A good waxing iron maintains an even temperature and makes it easier to melt in glide wax without overheating the base. Here you will find waxing irons for both home waxing and more precise race preparation.
Why a dedicated waxing iron is needed
Waxing irons are designed for ski wax and have a plate that distributes heat more evenly than a regular household iron. This gives better control when different waxes require different temperatures.
How to choose the right model
- A thicker plate provides a more stable temperature as the iron is moved over the ski.
- Digital adjustment is practical when you often work with hard waxes and exact temperatures.
- A simpler analog model is perfectly adequate for normal home waxing if the thermostat is even and reliable.
Use the iron safely
Follow the temperature indication on the wax, keep the iron moving, and make sure there is always wax between the plate and the base. Work with good ventilation and wipe off the plate while the iron is still warm.
