For fine-grained new snow with low relative humidity. New snow often results in an uneven track surface. It is difficult to get a grip and there is a high risk of under-freezing. The tar waxes are specially adapted for new snow conditions as they adjust to the temperature, which gives them a wide range of uses and counteracts the risk of under-freezing.
The wax consistency is relatively soft and requires a base wax when used, usually Start regular Base Wax. The tar waxes become harder in cold and should always be applied outdoors so that they can be applied in thin even layers. This improves the result and makes them easy to use.
Start by roughening the ski base. Sandpaper with a grit of 100 is recommended. Also remember that grip wax must be corked out with synthetic cork.
