For older coarse snow.

Old coarse snow is more aggressive and abrasive than new snow and requires waxes with better durability. On the other hand, it is relatively easy to get grip, but it requires that the wax is hard enough to maintain glide. The synthetic grip waxes are tougher and harder than tar grip waxes and thus are also more durable while maintaining glide.

To ensure that the wax stays on the base, especially for longer distances, base wax or base klister is recommended under these waxes. The thin layer of base wax should be applied with an iron. The grip wax itself should always be applied outdoors.
