The base waxes give the waxing improved durability.

Start by roughening the ski's surface. Sandpaper with a grit of 100 is recommended. Then apply a layer of base wax and heat it in. Once it has cooled, the ski is ready for today's grip wax.

Start has two different base waxes:

• Start Base Wax – This product is for normal snow conditions.
• Start Base Wax Extra – For coarse-grained snow and abrasive conditions, such as artificial snow.
