Swix Sidewall Cutter Sport TA101N is an ergonomic tool for removing plastic from the sidewall of skis or snowboards.
Expose the steel edge before filing: If the file hits the plastic first, the edge angle becomes uneven and the file wears unnecessarily. The sidewall tool therefore does the rough work before the actual steel edge is sharpened.
How to use the product
- Mount the ski on its side.
- Adjust the blade so that it only cuts sidewall material.
- Work in thin, even shavings from tip to tail.
- Check frequently to make sure you are not cutting into the base or steel edge.
- File and polish the steel edge only once the steel is fully exposed.
