Wax the family's downhill skis

We receive many questions about how to easily wax the family's alpine skis. Here is a suggestion!

Right now! - If you shop for over 1000 kronor at one time, we offer a 10% discount!

The foundation for easily and effectively waxing the family's slalom skis is a couple of different hand brushes and liquid glide waxes. It is much easier if you also have a good ski holder to fasten the skis when waxing them.

We start with the bronze brush to remove old wax from the ski base and open up its pores to receive new glide wax. You can very well use the smaller, more affordable rectangular brushes; you don't need to spend on the more expensive oval brushes.

Now the ski is ready for glide wax. Liquid glide wax is the way to go. You avoid the waxing iron. You avoid scraping off excess glide wax from the base and thoroughly messing up your waxing area. The work effort is much, much less. Nowadays, the development of liquid glide waxes has come so far that they are almost as durable as solid glide waxes that you melt onto the ski. In cross-country skiing, they even use liquid glide waxes for the 50 km races nowadays, so a long day on the slopes is no problem.

There are liquid glide waxes for all temperatures, but if you really want to glide past everyone on the transport sections or if you are waxing the skis for your future alpine star in the family, we recommend that you buy three different waxes that cover all temperatures.

The liquid glide wax benefits from being corked into the ski base, it is then warmed by the friction heat and thereby adheres better and becomes more durable. After that, the base should be polished to become shiny for the best glide, which is done with a nylon brush.

With these products, for skiing on regular slopes, even if the family is very skilled, you will feel that you always have a good glide. This also works excellently if you have children who have started in ski school and are at the beginning of their racing career.
