View full detailsWhy is a waxing iron needed?
A waxing iron, with temperature indication, is a must for serious waxing. Never use an old household iron – they have uneven temperature and can ruin both wax and base. A waxing iron is specially developed for ski waxing and gives you control and safety in your work.
Features of a good waxing iron
- Thick plate – preferably around 1 cm for even and stable heat.
- Exact temperature – digital or clear setting makes the work safe.
- Durable construction – built to withstand many hours of use.
Applications
The waxing iron is not only used to melt in glide wax. You can and should also melt in the first layer of grip wax so that the following layers adhere better. Be sure to clean the iron thoroughly between different types of wax.
Tips from us
- Preferably have one waxing iron for glide wax and one for grip wax to avoid contamination.
- Always keep the iron in motion – stationary heat can damage the base.
- Use a well-ventilated area and preferably a waxing table for a stable work surface.
FAQ – Common questions about waxing irons
Can I use an old iron?
No, household irons do not maintain even temperature and can ruin the base. Always use a waxing iron.
How thick should the plate be?
Around 1 cm is ideal for even heat distribution and stable temperature.
Do I need two different waxing irons?
It is an advantage – one for glide wax and one for grip wax. Otherwise, you need to clean the iron very thoroughly between uses.
How do I clean the waxing iron?
Wipe the plate when it is lukewarm with fiberlene or paper. Avoid abrasive materials that can damage the surface.
