The structuring tool is for easier structuring of the base. In humid and warm conditions, a structure should be applied to reduce the suction from the water film that exists between the track surface and the ski base. The base structure creates an opportunity to mix air into the water film, which provides better glide.
The structuring tool is made of anodized aluminum. The rollers are made of stainless steel. The tool works by having two rollers spin in the direction of travel, pressing the structure into the base.
