Christer Majbäck was one of the world's top skiers for a decade with 5 World Championship medals and an Olympic medal. When Christer ended his active career and bought SKIGO in 1996, the ambition was to provide skiers, regardless of their goals, with high-quality, innovative and easy-to-use products at a competitive price. SKIGO still works towards that ambition, and today SKIGO is represented in 18 countries around the world.

All production and all tests of the wax mixtures take place in SKIGO's own factory in Kiruna, Sweden's only wax factory. Other products are manufactured in carefully selected factories mainly in China, Pakistan, and the Baltics.

SKIGO offers unique products where many years of experience and careful prioritization speak for themselves.

During the Sochi 2014 Olympics, 70–75 percent of the medals were won using wax from SKIGO.
