For a period of ten years, Christer Majbäck was one of the world’s leading skiers, with 5 World Championship medals and 1 Olympic medal. When Christer ended his active career and bought SKIGO in 1996, the ambition was to provide skiers, regardless of their goals, with high-quality, innovative and easy-to-use products at a competitive price. SKIGO still works according to that ambition, and today SKIGO is represented in 18 countries around the world.
All production and all testing of the wax blends takes place in SKIGO’s own factory in Kiruna, Sweden’s only ski wax factory. Other products are manufactured in carefully selected factories primarily in China, Pakistan and the Baltics.

During the 2014 Sochi Olympics, 70–75 percent of the medals were won on wax from SKIGO.
