Product description
Snowglide PushOff makes it easier to expose the steel edge for precise sharpening. This solid sidewall tool provides good control and removes exactly the material obstructing the file, stone or sharpening machine.
Work with a pushing motion along the ski and very light pressure. Two ball bearings, one on either side of the cutter, run against the edge and help maintain an even tool height. Together with the round carbide cutter and stable aluminium construction, they provide consistent, controlled material removal.
Give the sharpening tool clear access to the steel edge
Sidewall plastic and the metal layer just above the steel edge can prevent the sharpening tool from reaching properly. PushOff removes obstructing material, including aluminium layers such as Zicral. Once the steel edge is exposed, the tool makes better contact with the steel, providing the right conditions for an accurate angle and even sharpening. This is important preparation for both hand sharpening and electric edge tuning.
Fine-tune the settings to the ski
The cutter's lateral position and cutting depth can be adjusted separately. This makes it easy to adapt the tool to the material above the edge and work in thin, controlled cuts.
- Round carbide cutter for working on the material above the steel edge.
- Two guide ball bearings to help maintain a consistent cutting depth.
- Separate lateral and depth adjustment for precise control of material removal.
- Stable machined-aluminium construction for a secure feel in the hand.
- Pushing action with light pressure for smooth, controlled work.
How to work with PushOff
- Secure the ski on its side and position the tool so the ball bearings contact the steel edge.
- Adjust the lateral position and depth so the cutter removes a thin layer of material just above the steel edge.
- Push the tool evenly along the ski with light pressure. Work in several thin cuts and fine-tune as needed.
- Check that the file, stone or grinding wheel has clear access to the steel edge before you start sharpening.
Check the sidewall during later sharpening sessions too. As the steel edge is ground down, more material may need removing to maintain clear access.
