Product description
The Sidecut World Cup Diamond Guide has a compact, comfortable shape that sits well in the hand and gives good control when sharpening and polishing steel edges. It is easy to carry in a pocket or backpack, so you can refresh edge grip between runs on hard, icy snow.
The precision-machined aluminium body has a stainless steel glide surface that runs smoothly against the base. A thumb screw holds the diamond disc firmly in place, and the guide's fixed angle helps you work evenly along the entire steel edge.
Easy to learn and use
Diamond Guide is an easy, forgiving tool for anyone new to edge preparation. The diamond disc makes controlled work easier, with less risk of damaging the edge than when an inexperienced user works with a file. It is also very useful for teaching younger children to care for their own ski edges.
Convenient maintenance in the tuning room and on the slopes
Fitted with a suitable diamond disc, Diamond Guide works as a standalone tool for daily maintenance of sharpness and edge grip. It also complements filing by deburring and polishing afterwards. In the tuning room, you can leave the file in its guide and keep the Diamond Guide ready for the next step.
The round diamond disc can be rotated in the guide, allowing you to use more of the diamond surface. This spreads wear more evenly and helps you get more use from each disc.
Add Sidecut diamond discs, sold separately. A 400-grit disc is a good all-round choice for regular maintenance. Choose finer grits to refine the polishing further.
How to use the guide
- Fit the chosen Sidecut diamond disc and tighten the thumb screw.
- Use water or a small amount of Sidecut polishing oil when sharpening.
- Keep the glide surface against the base and move the guide along the steel edge with light, even pressure.
- Loosen the thumb screw and rotate the disc to use a fresh part of the diamond surface. Retighten the screw before continuing.
- Remove the disc after use, clean the abrasive surface and let the tools dry before storage.
