Product description
The Sidecut World Cup file guide with Trigger Clamping System is a solid precision tool for achieving exceptionally sharp steel edges. It sits firmly in the hand and helps maintain a consistent sharpening angle along the entire edge, from tip to tail. A fine choice for careful ski care at home and for preparation before training and racing.
Comfortable finger grip and secure clamping
One of its most appreciated details is the comfortable finger grip underneath. The Trigger Clamping System makes the guide pleasant to use and provides a secure grip with good control throughout each stroke. At the same time, the file or stone is held closely against the guide. Files and stones both sit equally flat and securely. The clamp can be fitted for right- or left-handed use.
The recesses and screw holes are carefully designed to let you expand the guide with a sidewall kit. The file and stone remain firmly supported despite these openings. A compatible Sidewall Remover Kit adds sidewall trimming to the guide's functions.
The precision-machined aluminium body is paired with a hand-polished stainless steel glide surface that runs smoothly against the base. The result is a durable file guide with a reassuring weight and carefully finished details. Colour anodising and laser-engraved angle markings make it easy to find the right tool in the tuning room.
Choose the right angle
The file guide is available in 89, 88, 87, 86 and 85 degrees. Choose the side-edge angle you want, for example 87 degrees. For regular maintenance, match the ski's existing side-edge angle.
How to use the file guide
- Secure the ski on its side and make sure the base is clean where the file guide will glide.
- Secure a suitable ski file or diamond stone with the Trigger Clamp so that the tool lies flat against the file guide.
- Keep the glide surface against the base and work along the steel edge with even, controlled strokes. Follow the file's cutting direction when using a file.
- Use the file to work the edge, then follow with diamond stones to remove burrs and polish. For light maintenance, you can use the diamond stone directly.
- Clean grinding residue from the file, stone and glide surface after the work.
Works well with, for example, Sidecut diamond stone 110 x 25 mm.
