Product description
The right diamond disc lets you make full use of your Swix EVO Pro Edge Tuner. Swix original grinding discs come in four grades, covering everything from setting a new side-edge angle and treating damage to maintaining sharpness and giving the edge a very fine polish.
The discs are easy to change, so you can adapt the same machine to the edge's condition and your desired finish. Use them to replace a worn disc or to expand the machine's range of uses.
Which grinding disc should you choose?
| Grinding disc | Suitable for |
|---|---|
| Coarse - TA3013G | Setting the side-edge angle on new skis, changing an existing angle or working on damaged areas and burrs. Used when more material needs to be removed. |
| Medium - TA3013M | General maintenance when the edge needs more sharpening than normal polishing provides. A good step when sharpness has deteriorated but you want to keep the existing angle. |
| Fine - TA3013F | Fine maintenance grinding and careful polishing for a smooth, sharp edge. The same type of disc supplied with the EVO Pro Edge Tuner. |
| Extra fine - TA3013XF | The final, extra-fine polishing of an already well-prepared edge. Particularly suitable when finish is the priority, for example in speed disciplines. |
Fine or extra fine?
The fine disc is a natural choice for keeping an edge in good condition and finishing after coarser sharpening. Extra fine takes polishing one step further and suits an edge that is already sharp and even. This lets you adapt the final treatment to how thoroughly you want to prepare your skis for training, racing or your next ski day.
Work according to the edge's condition
Choose the finest disc that can do the job. A well-maintained edge can often be treated directly with the fine disc, while a more worn edge may need medium first. For angle changes or damage, start coarse and progress to finer discs until the surface is even and has the desired finish.
- Unplug the EVO Pro and fit the selected disc according to the machine's instructions.
- Check that the sidewall is cut back and the machine is set to the correct side-edge angle.
- Guide the machine evenly along the edge with a light touch and let the spring-loaded disc control the grinding pressure.
- Check the result between passes and switch to a finer disc once the coarser work is complete.
Finish and store with care
To remove remaining burrs and wire edges after sharpening, finish with the Swix World Cup Ceramic Edge Finisher. There is also a storage case with space for EVO Pro and spare discs, which protects the equipment during transport and storage.
