Vauhti Top Race Vector Topping 30 g +7 / -3

Vauhti Top Race Vector 30 g is a solid topping for demanding wet snow conditions. It is applied as a thin final layer over the finished glide wax treatment.

Vauhti developed Vector to maintain high speed throughout the race in difficult wet snow. The application differs from normal paraffin waxing: use less wax, let the base cool completely, and brush gently.

Suitable for

• Race waxing in wet, suctiony, or dirty snow.

Vauhti’s racing method

The following instructions apply to Top Race Vector in solid form, 30 g. They should not be used for the Vector spray.

1. Clean and prepare the glide surface with a glide wax suited to the day’s snow.
2. Rub the block onto the base to create a thin layer. For easier application, the block can first be dabbed against the waxing iron. Use a smaller amount than for normal paraffin waxing.
3. Vauhti specifies about 160 °C and 10-15 seconds of ironing per ski for the solid Vector product. Also check the product’s current instructions and keep the iron moving so that the entire glide surface is covered.
4. Let both the wax and the base cool completely. In a warm waxing room, the skis can be cooled briefly outdoors.
5. Scrape and brush carefully by hand with a brass brush or fine steel brush, then a horsehair brush and finally a nylon brush. Avoid heavy pressure.
6. Check with a polishing cloth. The base should feel smooth and slippery. If it feels sticky, let the ski cool more and continue brushing gently.
