1. Secure the ski
A stable working position is the foundation of safe, efficient maintenance. Ski vises and brake retainers free both hands and give you control.

2. Maintain the steel edges
Start by exposing the edge. Then set the correct angle with a file and finish with a diamond stone for a smooth, sharp and durable edge.

3. Repair, clean and improve glide
Minor base damage can be repaired on site. Use the appropriate cleaner for the grip zone and glide zones, refresh dry or oxidised bases with Fibertex and finish with liquid glide wax when needed for quick, routine maintenance.

4. Solid glide wax - clean and saturate the base
At least once a year, the glide surfaces should be cleaned, hot-cleaned and saturated with solid glide wax. This helps prevent dry bases, extends the life of the skis and provides a durable foundation for alpine skis, cross-country skis and snowboards.

From a worn loan ski to ready for the next outing
Inspect
Check the bases, steel edges, bindings and brakes. Set aside skis that need more extensive repairs.
Secure
Secure the ski firmly in the appropriate holder and retain the brakes to keep the working surface clear.
Repair and clean
Fill minor base damage, level the repair and use the appropriate cleaner for the grip zone and glide zones.
Sharpen the edges
Expose the side edge, file if needed and finish with a dampened diamond stone.
Saturate and glide-wax
Iron in solid glide wax, let the base cool, then scrape and brush. Liquid wax can be used for quick, routine maintenance.
Apply grip wax
On waxable cross-country skis, apply hard grip wax or grip tape to a clean, lightly roughened grip zone.
Better skis start at the workbench.
Good glide and reliable edges make a difference from the very first slope.
