Skin & Wax-free
A pair of skins can last about 100 miles on the ski trail. This depends a little on how you ride and where you go. In some well-used trails, a lot of other skiers' mud and glue gets caught in your skins. In order for the leather to last as long as possible and give the best possible effect, they need to be cleaned and treated. An important thing to remember is to use a cleaning product that is specially adapted for skin skis (alcohol-based) and not ordinary pad cleaning for e.g. jar qualla.
Well-maintained skins provide both better gliding and better grip, plus they prevent freezing, which is otherwise common, mainly in fresh snow.
The sliding surfaces of your skin skis are ridden with sliding pads just like regular skis, we can recommendStart's new floating sliding pads .
