Some prefer thinner 3mm sickles because they bend and make it easier to remove wax, especially from the tips and ends. Others prefer thicker 5mm sickles because they don't bend. It's a personal preference, here you have the golden mean of 4mm thickness - not too soft - not too stiff!

The sickle is also larger than most sickles, it is 150 x 60 mm which means that it has a little extra width which makes it also excellent for alpine skis. In addition, we have placed the two rounded corners on the same long side, which means that the sickle lies perfectly in the hands because no sharp edges cut into it.
